For Malaga airport, last August was the month with the highest number of users of its history, with 1,680,707 passengers, thus increasing 5.7% in respect to the same month last year.
Traffic on AENA network airports experienced an increase of 6.2% during the month of August in relation to the same month in 2013. With over 22.9 million passengers, this continuous growth has been experienced during the previous ten months.
According to information provided by AENA, from those 22.9 million passengers, 16.6 million travelled on international flights, also increasing the statistics on 6.5% on this scope.
In terms of number of passengers per airport, Barcelona-El Prat would be on the first position, with 8.6% more in August, with the highest number of passengers in their history reaching 4.2 million passengers.
Nearly 4 million passengers (3.990.993) landed on Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, experiencing an increase of 5%.
Likewise, another record has been achieved during 2014 Summer Season in relation to private flights:
The small civil terminal, which is used by private flights, became a hive of passengers, with a point in common: the budget of a magnate and the willingness to spend their holiday in some of the most unobtrusive and luxury places that can be found in the Costa del Sol. There is a feeling of euphoria in the sector, because they see that big fortunes from all over the world put their eyes in Marbella and surrounding areas once again, after the crisis lived during these years.
The numbers speak by themselves: there has been an average of 25 to 30 operations in private flights per day, during the month of august, reaching peaks of up to 50 aircrafts on the days before and after the weekend. At this rate, it implies an increase of 40% if compared to the previous summer.
